What is capacity building?
NDIS capacity building supports are the supports that you have access to help you build your skills, maintain your independence, pursue the goals in your NDIS plan and participate more fully in the community.
Capacity-building funding can only be used to purchase approved individual supports that fall within that capacity-building category. The nine NDIS capacity-building support categories are:
- Support Coordination
- Improved Living Arrangements
- Increased Social & Community Participation
- Finding & Keeping a Job
- Improved Relationships
- Improved Health & Wellbeing
- Improved Learning
- Improved Life Choices
- Improved Daily Living
The NDIS capacity building supports that you have access to are based on the information provided in your planning meeting and the funding approved in your NDIS plan. That means you won’t automatically have access to all nine categories, just the
ones you need to help you achieve your goals.
How can I give feedback, a compliment or make a complaint?
If the feedback, complaint or compliment is about the NDIS it is best to provide the feedback directly to the NDIS. The feedback page on the NDIS website outlines how to make a complaint. You can do this by calling the NDIS on 1800 800 110, via the online form or by downloading the complaint form.
If the feedback, complaint or compliment is about a NDIS service provider it is best to provide that feedback directly to the provider, however, if you are not comfortable speaking directly with the service provider or you are not satisfied with their response, you can raise your complaint with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission).
The NDIS Commission is a new independent Commonwealth agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The NDIS Commission has created the following factsheets to support you:
